Q’d Community Guidelines

1. Why these guidelines exist

Q’d is for verified adults seeking meaningful relationships through respectful video dates and mutual matches.

These guidelines apply to:

  1. your account and profile;
  2. profile photographs, videos and answers;
  3. discovery choices;
  4. Date Night conduct;
  5. friend groups and debrief rooms;
  6. text messages;
  7. support, reporting and appeals;
  8. conduct connected to a person you met through Q’d; and
  9. attempts to avoid or manipulate Q’d rules.

Behaviour can breach these guidelines even when it happens outside Q’d if it creates a relevant safety risk for a Q’d user or community.

2. Be a real person

You must:

  1. use your own identity and one personal account;
  2. give your real age and accurate core profile information;
  3. use current media that genuinely shows you;
  4. appear as yourself during verification and Date Nights;
  5. keep your profile reasonably current; and
  6. complete required verification honestly.

You must not:

  1. impersonate another person;
  2. use a fictional identity;
  3. create a couple or shared dating profile;
  4. use another person's photographs, videos or voice;
  5. use heavily altered, misleading, synthetic or generated media to misrepresent your appearance;
  6. use prerecorded video in place of your live presence;
  7. create multiple accounts;
  8. sell, transfer or lend an account;
  9. evade a restriction or ban; or
  10. interfere with liveness, face matching or age checks.

3. Meet the eligibility rules

Q’d is for adults only.

The initial London service is for people aged 21 through 30 who are seeking meaningful relationships.

You must not:

  1. create or operate an account while under the required age;
  2. misstate your date of birth;
  3. encourage an underage person to access Q’d;
  4. place a child in profile or message media;
  5. sexualise or exploit a child in any way; or
  6. remain on Q’d after you stop meeting an eligibility requirement without notifying us where the application does not update automatically.

Q’d has zero tolerance for Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation, including Child Sexual Abuse Material. You must not create, upload, request, share, promote, facilitate or attempt to obtain this content or use Q’d to groom, exploit, traffic or endanger a child.

Suspected Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation will be handled urgently. Q’d will remove relevant access or content, preserve only the evidence needed for safety and legal duties, and report to the appropriate authorities where required by law.

4. Treat people with respect

Q’d does not allow:

  1. harassment;
  2. bullying;
  3. intimidation;
  4. humiliation;
  5. body shaming;
  6. unwanted sexual remarks;
  7. repeated unwanted contact;
  8. insults or degrading treatment;
  9. threats;
  10. coercive or controlling behaviour;
  11. pressure to share personal information;
  12. pressure to move communication outside Q’d;
  13. retaliation after rejection, switching, leaving, unmatching, blocking or reporting; or
  14. contacting someone through another route after they have ended contact.

A lack of interest is not an invitation to persuade, punish or pursue.

5. Respect identity and difference

Q’d does not allow hate, dehumanisation, slurs, harmful stereotypes or discrimination directed at a person or group because of:

  1. race;
  2. ethnicity;
  3. nationality;
  4. religion or belief;
  5. sex;
  6. gender;
  7. gender identity;
  8. sexual orientation;
  9. disability;
  10. health;
  11. age; or
  12. another protected or personal characteristic.

You may hold and express personal values respectfully. You may not use Q’d to promote hatred, exclusionary ideology or targeted abuse.

Dating preferences must be expressed through the available settings, not through insulting or demeaning profile statements.

6. Consent is required

Consent must be:

  1. freely given;
  2. informed;
  3. specific;
  4. mutual;
  5. current; and
  6. capable of being withdrawn at any time.

Consent to one action does not mean consent to another.

Matching does not mean consent to:

  1. sexual conversation;
  2. intimate photographs or video;
  3. contact outside Q’d;
  4. an offline meeting;
  5. physical contact;
  6. recording;
  7. sharing private information; or
  8. continued communication.

Silence, previous consent, flirting, an extension or a prior relationship does not replace current consent.

7. Keep sexual and explicit content off Q’d

Q’d does not permit pornographic, sexually explicit or unsolicited intimate content.

You must not:

  1. expose yourself during a Date Night or debrief;
  2. send nude or sexually explicit photographs or videos;
  3. display sexual acts;
  4. make unwanted sexual requests;
  5. send sexual content without clear consent;
  6. threaten to share intimate content;
  7. create, distribute or request intimate deepfake content;
  8. use Q’d to buy or sell sexual services; or
  9. use sexual behaviour to shock, pressure or intimidate another person.

Q’d may remove content and restrict accounts even when everyone involved is an adult.

8. No violence, dangerous conduct or illegal activity

You must not:

  1. threaten, encourage or glorify violence against a person or group;
  2. promote terrorism or violent extremism;
  3. encourage serious self harm;
  4. coordinate criminal activity;
  5. sell or distribute illegal drugs;
  6. traffic, exploit or groom another person;
  7. display weapons to threaten or intimidate;
  8. share content depicting severe graphic violence without a legitimate and approved safety reason;
  9. seek another person for an illegal purpose; or
  10. use Q’d to conceal or facilitate an offence.

If you believe anyone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.

9. No scams, money requests or commercial use

Q’d is for personal dating, not financial or commercial activity.

You must not:

  1. ask another user to send money, gifts, cryptocurrency or financial credentials;
  2. promote investments or trading;
  3. request bank, card or identity information;
  4. direct people to suspicious links;
  5. conduct romance fraud;
  6. advertise goods or services;
  7. recruit for employment, schemes, political activity or another platform;
  8. sell access, nominations, referrals or priority;
  9. operate as a paid dating intermediary without written permission; or
  10. use Q’d to build a contact list.

Never send money to someone you met through Q’d.

10. Protect privacy

You must not:

  1. publish another person's private information;
  2. reveal a home, work or precise live location without permission;
  3. record a Date Night, message or debrief without lawful permission;
  4. distribute screenshots, screen recordings or private messages;
  5. identify, track or monitor another person;
  6. collect profiles through scraping;
  7. search for and contact someone elsewhere after they ended contact;
  8. threaten exposure or blackmail;
  9. share login or verification information; or
  10. misuse information obtained through support or moderation.

Do not include unnecessary personal details in your profile, background, media or conversation.

11. Date Night conduct

During every Date Night:

  1. join as yourself;
  2. be reasonably present and able to participate;
  3. keep your camera view appropriate;
  4. use respectful language;
  5. follow the timer and room controls;
  6. respect a Switch, Leave or Report action;
  7. keep other people out of the room;
  8. do not record;
  9. do not obstruct safety controls; and
  10. follow moderator instructions relating to immediate safety.

You may leave at any time.

You must not pressure another participant to Extend or ask them to disclose their private choice.

You must not punish, contact or harass someone because a conversation ended.

12. Friend groups and debrief rooms

Only verified people who participated in the same Date Night may join its friend debrief group.

One dater may deliberately share one encountered profile at a time.

Group members must not:

  1. record or capture the profile;
  2. contact the person shown unless they separately formed a mutual match;
  3. publish or redistribute profile information;
  4. ridicule or humiliate the person;
  5. organise harassment;
  6. pretend an advisory vote controls the dater's decision;
  7. pressure the dater to submit a particular choice; or
  8. reveal private information learned through the debrief.

The dater alone controls the actual match decision.

13. Messaging and media

Messaging is available only after a mutual match.

You must not send:

  1. harassment or threats;
  2. unwanted sexual content;
  3. intimate images;
  4. malicious files or links;
  5. spam;
  6. scams or money requests;
  7. another person's private information;
  8. content that infringes rights;
  9. content involving a child; or
  10. content intended to evade moderation.

Do not repeatedly send messages when a person is not responding.

An unmatch or block ends permission to contact that person.

14. No platform manipulation

You must not:

  1. use bots or automated accounts;
  2. scrape profiles or messages;
  3. reverse engineer restricted systems;
  4. manipulate availability, attendance, queue or pairing data;
  5. coordinate false interest or false reports;
  6. sell access to an account;
  7. misuse referral or nomination systems;
  8. attempt to discover another person's private choices;
  9. upload malware;
  10. probe security without written authorisation;
  11. overwhelm support or reporting systems; or
  12. use Q’d information to train another model or database.

15. Reporting concerns

Use Report when:

  1. conduct makes you feel unsafe;
  2. someone breaks these guidelines;
  3. you suspect a fake or underage account;
  4. someone requests money;
  5. someone sends prohibited content;
  6. someone threatens or harasses you;
  7. someone records or shares private content;
  8. concerning conduct happens after leaving Q’d; or
  9. you believe illegal activity may be involved.

During a live Date Night, Report immediately ends the call and starts the moderation process.

For a technical, billing or ordinary account question, use a support ticket rather than the emergency reporting control.

Reports should be honest. You do not need to prove a concern before reporting it.

16. Enforcement

Q’d may:

  1. remove or reject content;
  2. issue guidance;
  3. issue a warning;
  4. limit a feature;
  5. remove a participant from a Date Night;
  6. pause circulation;
  7. suspend an account;
  8. permanently ban an account;
  9. prevent a new account;
  10. preserve relevant evidence;
  11. notify a provider or authority where lawful; or
  12. take another proportionate safety action.

Serious conduct may result in immediate removal without a prior warning.

We consider:

  1. the nature and severity of the conduct;
  2. whether anyone may be at immediate risk;
  3. whether the conduct was deliberate;
  4. available context and evidence;
  5. previous violations;
  6. attempts to evade enforcement;
  7. effects on other people; and
  8. legal obligations.

17. Appeals

An eligible user may appeal a warning, content removal, suspension or permanent ban through the designated appeal form.

An appeal must:

  1. identify the decision;
  2. explain why it may be wrong;
  3. provide relevant information; and
  4. avoid threats, abuse or repeated duplicate submissions.

A person who was not satisfied with a report outcome does not receive private information about action taken against another user.

Appeals are reviewed by an authorised person. We may uphold, change or reverse the original decision.

18. Updates

We may update these guidelines as Q’d, user risks or legal duties change.

We will publish the current effective date and provide reasonable notice of material changes.
